Information on GWRC Events

What is the Great World Run Club?

The Great World Run Club is a series of running events brought to you by the organizers of the 7 continents event The Great World Race. We hope you will join us on our journey to become the world's biggest running club.

How do I register for a race?

You can purchase your specific city race registration on our Calendar Page or simply click any "Register Now" button on our site and you will be seamlessly guided through our quick and easy registration process.

When and where can I pick up my bib/number?

Go to the race information page for your specific event and you will find the time and location of packet pick-up as well as other important race day details.

Can someone else pick up a bib/number for me?

Yes, if you cannot pick up your own race packet you may provide a friend your registration confirmation and a photo/copy of your ID and they can collect it on your behalf.

Can I transfer my entry to someone else?

No, all sales are final, transfer of entry to another participant is not possible.

Are refunds allowed?

No, all sales are final, race registration fees are non-refundable.

Can I defer my entry to a future race?

Registrations cannot be deferred to a future race.

Can I register on race day?

It will depend on the specific race and whether full capacity is met prior to race day. For specific details on a race in your city, please check our Calendar Page for specific race information.

Are dogs/animals allowed on the course?

For safety reasons, no dogs or other animals are permitted to run with participants at any time during the event. Safety dogs trained to perform specific tasks are accepted. If you have a safety dog please send details to safety@thegreatworldrunclub.com 21 days prior to the event.

Are scooters/bikes/skateboards allowed on the course?

For safety reasons, no bikes, scooters or skateboards are allowed on the course, only runners.

Are strollers allowed on the course?

For safety reasons, strollers are prohibited on the race course at any time during the event. You are also not permitted to carry any children or babies on the course.

Athletes with Disabilities

The Great World Run Club welcomes Athletes with Disabilities (AWD) to participate in our events. These include, but are not limited to, Blade Runners, Visually Impaired Runners, Adaptive / Guided Runners, Pushed Athletes and Push Rim Wheelchairs. No chairs with motors, gears, pedals, or cranks are permitted.

Awards/Prizes

Overall prizes will be given to the top 3 males and top 3 females decided by gun time. There will be age awards for the top 3 males and top 3 females in each of the following age groups decided by net/chip time: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+.

When will I get my age group award?

Overall prizes and age group awards will be presented after the event on race day.

Is there a course map available?

Yes, for specific details on a race in your city, please go to our Calendar Page and then navigate to the event in question for all race information.

Is there water/hydration available?

Yes, water and electrolyte fluids will be available on each course and at the finish line.

Is there a minimum age for entry?

You must be 10 years or older to take part. If under 18 years, parents must sign a waiver form.

Bag Storage

There will be no bag storage available at the event so please make arrangements in advance.

Toilet Facilities

There will be portable toilets at start/finish area and also throughout the course.

What happens if my race is cancelled?

In the rare instance where an event is cancelled due to weather or other extreme factors, your entry will be rolled over to the next race date.
